Star Fox Is Coming To Switch In A New Way!

Star Fox has been a series I hold pretty dearly, and as I was hanging out in my Discord community that night Mr. Miyamoto in all his blessings randomly puts out a Star Fox Direct! The man put out an announcement on Nintendo's Twitter and said we had like about... mmm 30 minutes or so to see the new Star Fox Direct stuff! My eyes glinted and I was super happy! Just to see it being Star Fox 64, aw man.

Okay okay! I'll admit, yes I'm tired of Star Fox 64, but this isn't a bad thing realistically since this isn't exactly made for me. I can tell that this is being made for the next generation of Star Fox fans. Star Fox has been around since the early 90s, this makes it practically a 30 year old franchise, not a lot of games get to even say that let alone live it. There's so much to talk about and be had about Star fox, and seeing a remake of Star Fox 64 has me a bit worried.

For those who are not in the know, this Switch version of Star Fox is a Switch remake of Star Fox 64! Which is all fine and dandy, it gives a new generation a chance to play Star Fox 64 for the first time without having to play the N64 version. Sure Star Fox 64 is on Nintendo Switch Online, and you can get the Nintendo 64 controller through Nintendo's Online Store services, but!! I still have hopes that this is pretty cool!

Now that being said, yea I'm a little nervous mostly because this is about.. I wanna say the 4th or 5th time they have remade this game and the damning thing is that they didn't even call it something new, they just labeled it "Star Fox" with a white label. I'm sorry but the original logo at least had some personality. Of course, I know that is a little negative at first, I'm really hoping that this is a marketing thing from the Super Mario Galaxy Movie. My hopes are that this game really pushes the boundaries for Switch 2 on a technical feel.

Everyone was pretty impressed when it came to Metroid Prime 4. The game is capable of 120 fps and 1080p and even a 4k resolution too! The Switch 2 is a truly magnificent system, and Star Fox (remake) is really pushing the limits out. Watching this over again, the visuals are truly beautiful, the shimmer on the water, the sky having layers so that light can refract and gleam through onto the Arwings. I appreciate that they went through all the different vehicles. I'm a bit bummed that there isn't online for Landmasters and Blue Marines, but hey! At least we have new battle modes!

The thing I find the most interesting is this new AR technology that they're pushing with Gameshare! I hate that Nintendo won't just admit it's Vtubing, but they really showed off the tech which is really interesting. Unfortunately, I just know someone is gonna do terrible things with them, but besides the point I can't wait to play online and watch someone with the Fox or Wolf Vtuber screaming as I shoot them down LOL

Some people are skeptical of the art choices and designs, in the direction they have chosen they have went full on furry, hyper realism almost just like the original Star Fox designs back in the 90s on the Super Nintendo. I do feel the puppet-animal like designs works well here, and yes it can be a bit uncanny initially but to be honest these designs are growing on me. Except... Slippy. I'm sorry my little toad, you are too precious for this world and they did you dirty man.

If you haven't had a chance to check out the Japanese Star Fox website, please do there's a lot of great details and information on there and a huge labor of love of series. Also! They did announce some new plushies which look fantastic!
